Who else here does this? For example let's take my username. IT's actually the name I'd given to my first desktop (due to it's bad habit of seemingly dying... windows corruption, ram going bad, the harddrive failing) and save for the last time involving the motherboard warping from heat, I'd always been able to bring him back.

My family's computer has no name... it is not mine so it would not feel right.

My DS lite was named Fry. No ideas why I did that but Fry he was until he just stopped working. Suspect a blown fuse but couldn't replace it.

I have named my Cr-48 'Crate'.

I name all of my computers after rivers around the world...I have an Amazon, Tiber, Tigris, Euphrates, Mississippi, etc. Still waiting to *hopefully* get a Cr-48...I won't bother naming it until I actually have one. lol.

I name things that go on my network, nothing else. Change it up every so often, right now they're characters from Farscape.

All things in my network get named with my last name.

Desktop is DONDERSDESKTOP7, my Cr-48 is DONDERSGOOGLE and so on with my servers. Just because I am in an apartment with other people makes it easier to identify my stuff.

Shamefully I haven't named a Dargo yet, though I still have a few generically named devices that I ought to fix up.

My laptop is PIP
The wife's laptop (her primary machine) is AERYNSUN
My desktop is, of course, CRICHTON. My big old trusty storage drive on that machine is WINONA
File server is MOYA
Router is PILOT
Cisco switch is TALYN

Still need to get my XBMC machine, Cr-48, phones and kid's PC and wife's desktop in on the naming scheme. Just been lazy.

Maybe I'll call the Cr-48 Dargo. Just for the irony of it.

Nah. Your Cr-48 seems more a Rigel to me. Short, not thought of as able to do much, but in his element works quite well with enough coercion.
