Exclamation Lacking Volume Control on My Home-Made Chrome Book

    Hello Chrome OS Forum Dwellers,

I recently wiped my netbook and installed the latest build of Chrome OS from Hexxeh's nightly vanilla thingerr...... (This thing right here --> chromeos.hexxeh.net/vanilla.php ) I have really been enjoying ChromeOS but I have encountered a slight problem: I can't figure out how to control the volume. Without headphones I can't barely hear audio coming from the netbook's speakers. I have tried several combinations of key presses but nothing has worked.

    Can you help me?

    Details:

    Netbook - Asus Eee 1005HA-B

Latest build of ChromeOS from the site above as of July 21, 2011

    Thanks!!!

    The CR-48 uses F8, F9 and F10 for mute, V- and V+ respectively...

ChromeOS interacts with the F (function) keys of normal keyboards as only that -

    F1 - Page back
    F2 - Page forward
    F3 - Reload page
    F4 - Full screen
    F5 - Switch window
    F6 - Brightness down
    F7 - Brightness up
    F8 - Mute
    F9 - Volume down
    F10 - Volume up

Depending on the keyboard, you may have to press FUNCTION in order to utilize the F keys.

Ah-HA! Thank you Danger Rat. Those buttons worked for me me. The reason I couldn't get them to work before is because I was pushing the [Fn] key while pressing F8 F9 and F10.

My next problem is that the volume was on MAX the whole time which means that the volume is really low. I know that the max volume is way louder when I'm running Windows... Any suggestions?
