Hey everyone, I just posted here, 0.11.181.2011_02_21_2237 I know this is sort of a cross-post, so sorry about that, buy my reasoning is that not everyone checks the Dev forums, and because this is more about the general concept of custom Chromium Builds and not about that thread, so I am not posting this to discuss that build here, please post in the thread above to discuss that build and/or general Dev stuff.. Now to get to the point..

With my first successful Chromium OS build booting on the Cr-48 it is pretty exciting, and I'm sure as Chrome OS becomes more popular the custom builds will become more available and what not, so what I'm am asking here is for you the community to give me your thoughts on custom Chrome OS builds, now just to clear up a few things..

Chrome Devs build multiple updates of the Chrome OS a week I'm sure, and not all of them get distributed as updates to everyone everyday, so the community is stuck to about 1-2 updates a week, maybe more or less depending on what may be going on, so these builds I think provide more testing and Chrome testing, now the next thing to understand, Chromium OS and Chrome OS are exactly the same except in who builds them, Chrome OS is what the Google engineers build and distribute, if i build my own version it is called Chromium, even without any modifications to the source. So all custom Chrome OS versions are Chromium.

Another thing is that you still have the submit a bug button to submit issues to Google, so they can still get your feedback on versions that most people don't generally use, so you would still be giving your feedback to Google which is the whole idea of the pilot program..

This is along as whoever made the custom Chrome OS version left all source as is and doesn't make any edits to the current chrome source before building and distributing. Also could be known as "Vanilla Builds" meaning untouched.

I feel like I'm rambling now.. lol, like I mentioned ive been working on this for about 6 hours between the repo sync and building and figuring things out on the cr-48, but I got it working and now I'm off to bed.. I'll try to clean this up in the morning..
