Will future windows laptop have chromium os as a dual boot option?

Think about it.

Chromium (not Chrome) OS is free open source and can already be installed on regular laptops.

Why don't the manufacturers pre-install Chromium OS as a dual boot option? I think it's possible and it will be a win-win scenario for both consumers, manufacturers.

Will it get automatic update like Chrome OS? Not so sure on that.

Not sure if they will produce them like that, but we do already know that it is possible. Some people have already dual booted the cr-48 with ubuntu.

I wouldn't be surprised. There are some quick-boot OSes already loaded on some laptops and motherboards, like ASUS ExpressGate/SplashTop. We'll probably see ChromiumOS (fully OSS version) showing up on some of those, or Google might even partner with them for a branded ChromeOS option.

Google seems to love Ubuntu, I know they use Ubuntu, hopefully they will dual-boot Chrome OS and Ubuntu. That would be perfect.

Yeah - with the quick-booting OS installed on flash memory on the motherboard or sometimes a partition on the hard drive. Honestly ASUS is the only company I'm aware of doing it right now, but its been tried plenty in the past too. Bit of a reoccurring fad, but we may have reached the point where it can get some traction as a useful idea.

You mean like you can with just about every Linux distribution?

That would seem pointless seeing as ChromeOS is just a web browser, if you were going to dual boot with ChromeOS why not just install chrome on the other running OS? I mean sure, it boots fast but by the time I would make the selection in the bootloader and boot chromeOS I would be able to get into my linux distro and online in the same amount of time. I can only see this as being a netbook OS or if the cloud ever manages to become the norm, a more common OS.
