I have some questions I need help with... (noob)
1) Is there any way possible I can tether my iPhone 4 to my CR-48? I am jailbroken and have tried regular tethering and MyWi's AD-HOC wifi network, and both don't work... AT&T SIM will not work either (tried it myself and did research)
2) Any word when SIM card support will be implemented (AT&T specifically if possible)
3) Whats the point of a 16GB drive, I messed with the USB version of Chrome OS and the minimum requirement was 2GB... can I do anything with that extra space?
4) What are some REAL Chrome Apps, not links. So far I found WeatherBug to be useful
Thanks for any help, I tether from my iPhone to my Mac for my life. I don't have internet at my home (my mom wont let me, I don't know what her problem is something to do with how much she hates my dad). So I tether from my iPhone to my MacBook, currently for my CR-48 I tether my iPhone to my Macbook to WIFI to CR-48... not too convenient to carry two laptops around and a iPhone just for internet, and the Verizon data is very limited. I have unlimited iPhone data plan and use about 15GB a month

Maybe these are not so noob-ish after all. Anyone help with anything?

the CR-48 cannot connect to an Ad-hoc network, only a infrastructure point, like a router.

For tethering...at least on android...google 'wired tether' and download the .apk to your phone and install. It is developed by the same guys who made the 'wireless tether' app which so kindly doesn't connect to the cr-48 b/c it broadcasts an ad-hoc network. Try a google search for a wired tether for iphone, I'm sure there is one, especially if you are jailbroken.
as for the extra space...I have already read about some guys dual booting with linux or windows (I don't know if they got windows working right) but if that is the case, that will allow you to access the rest of the 16GB
With the apps....it seems like they (the apps) are all glorified web-links. From what i have played with, the extensions seem to be more comparable to 'apps' than the actual apps. I have't really gone through too many of them, but I would also like to know of some cool ones
Hope this helps a little....

Might exist due to holding profile information, browser cache, app data (a few work offline, like read later)
Could be they wanted to make sure the beta testers (us) had plenty of room to tinker.
WE ARE GOOGLE. YOUR USAGE DATA AND STATISTICS WILL BE ADDED TO OUR OWN. RESISTANCE IS FUTILE. PREPARE TO BE INDEXED.

The space will be to hold the apps and temporary storage as you pass a file off from one cloud-space to another. Mostly though I am guessing that it will be for apps once the apps start to go beyond the glorified web links.
With regard to tethering, does the MyWi not have the ability to become a regular hostpot? I know my Nexus has the ability, and I plan to use it any time I want to use the cr-48 while away from a wifi connection? Another good reason I bought the Nexus One I guess...

I contacted a chrome ninja about the sim card and bluetooth support and this is what he said As for bluetooth, we haven't been made aware as to when it will be supported. Though it is on our product roadmap for future support. Likewise goes or the Sim card slot on the Chrome Notebook.

Wireless Tether for Android was updated in January so that the signal shows up as a standard wifi network connection instead of ad hoc. I've used it a couple times recently to tether my Cr-48 and it has worked flawlessly. I'm actually using said wifi connection right now.

I'll second the comment on extensions proving more useful & app-like. Cnet, engadget have some nice extensions, and there's a few facebook related ones that are ok. The closest to an app (vs link) I've found are NPR and NY Times.

Don't you need to have a rooted phone for that? Is there a wired solution that is visible to the CR-48?
