I am thinking of subscribing through verizon for a small data plan of a gig per month for times when I dont have a connection. Is there a way to analyze how much data I use on a typical day?
You get a free 100mb per month with the CR48, you just have to sign up for it. After you run out of data, you will get the option to add more data. When you enable cellular, click on connections and it shows Verizon, then under it it tells you how much data you have left for the month.

I tried searching for an extension for you, but it doesn't seem like one exists currently.
If I stumble across one I will update this thread.
The only thing I have used it for so far is for speedtest.net so I am not sure yet. Plus this is my first month with this.

I am on WIFI now but I think you can see remaining data (when you are connected to Verizon network) by going to the top bar where the signal bars are and clicking on it once to pull down the connection types, under the verizon network it will display remaining megabytes left![]()
I went ahead and got the 1 GB a month plan, if you turn off images ,enable click to play, run no-script and Ad-Block usage isn't that bad. I've maybe used 100 MB over the course of the week just using Google Reader, and browsing various forums.
