Unhappy Can Log in but Can't connect

OK after initial fiddling I managed to get a network going with the house desktop connected to the 3g modem and a router connected to the desktop and, supposedly, broadcasting. For awhile that worked swimmingly. I did a few demo things, let a house guest use Facebook awhile. Then I put it up for awhile to charge.

I come back nothing wants to connect. It'll let me log in (presumably account passwords are stored locally once the account is made.) It's likely something wonky with the cobbletogether i have in place. Ideas?

I'm using windows xp for the desktop, and obviously internet works for it.

Stumped and annoyed. Things were going so well earlier.

Have you tried a reboot? Also some times I am forced to "disable WiFi" then re enable it. See if that helps.

It's real finicky with the wifi sometimes, but this has always been a Linux thing. Sometimes it disconnects for no reason, sometimes it doesn't connect after it wakes from sleep. Hopefully Google will get this fixed. Don't forget to file a bug report.
