    Google Music Invite

Probably not the place for this but I know you guys can help. I got my Google music invite but am having trouble installing the music manager, apparently I am not the only one

Here is the problem, the solution from Google is this

    1. Go to Start > Run
    2. In the 'Run' window that appears, enter regedit in the text field and click the OK button.
    3. In the 'Registry Editor' window, navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Google\Update\Clients\.
    4. Right-click the directory '{430FD4D0-B729-4F61-AA34-91526481799D}.'
    5. Select Delete from the menu that appears.
    6. Close the 'Registry Editor' window.
    7. Try installing the program again.

I try this but here is the thing, I can't find that directory {430FD4D0-B729-4F61-AA34-91526481799D}.' I've looked all around in there

    What am I doing wrong?

    any other work arounds?

    I am using XP

I guess this means you have to give your invite to me
    Just kidding! Haha.

Just to be clear, you have already tried installing the software?
The registry window is split into two screens; the left hand side is the navigation pane and the right hand side is the contents viewer. The navigation pane is where you want to start; click the + next to HKEY_CURRENT_USER. This will expand and allow you to scroll down to SOFTWARE, click the +. Another list you can scroll down, so click the + by Google. A few more options... + next to Update... more options, press the + on Clients... This is where the directory should be. It will be in the left hand pane (navigation), not the content window on the right.

thanks a lot!....that's it....I wasn't following the path correctly until you showed me. I did the fix and it works .

Taking forever to upload my tunes....whatever......the app for the phone isn't all that good.....put the songs on shuffle and it works only some of the time, other times it will repeat the song.

I'm wondering if the shuffle doesn't work because you are still uploading songs? I would hate to not be able to shuffle through my music; it's something I've been begging for in each developer update of ChromeOS... the media player needs a bit more tweeking before it's ready for prime time. At least a shuffle button and perhaps an ID3 tag reader that pulls the album artwork, just so we don't have to look at a boring black box.
