    App to `track` data usage

Is there anything out there, or a setting in the notebook to watch the data usage being used on my notebook? I currently have the 100mb 3g verizon shits, and DO NOT want to go over. I know 100mb isnt much at all - but at least its something. I mainly use wifi - but never know when i might need the 3g!

I also have an OG-Moto Droid and it has a tethering option in the settings... but when i connect it to my cr48 via USB it doesnt share the data connection, what gives?

It's not possible to go over. Also, 3G shits? That sounds horrible. Might want to see a doctor.

Why wait for CR48..? Try Chrome OS Now.

I'm not sure about any apps but there is one built in, its not user friendly but I guess it works, it would be great though to have something thats nicer to read and more visually appealing...

just type "about:net-internals" into the omibar and click the check box for "Log actual bytes sent/received"
you have to remember though that:
    8 Bits = 1 Byte
    1024 Bytes = 1 KiloByte
    1024 KiloBytes = 1 MegaByte
    1024 MegaBytes = 1 GigaByte
    1024 GigaBytes = 1TeraByte

so every 1,000,000 bytes is equal to roughly 1mb Bytes, Ks, MBs, GIG - comparison, conversion and translation chart

When connected to 3G just click on the little 3G bars and it should tell you how much you have left.

PS - typical webpage = about 1.5mb according to Verizon

The important thing to know is that when you hit your 3G limit, be it free or paid, you are simply disconnected from data usage, so you can't "go over". Your only option at that point is to purchase more data.

Tethering is not enabled at this time.

I second, just click the wifi or 3G signal bars and you will see how much data is left. I recommended turning images off when you browse so you get the most out of your data.

Rather than trying to remember arcane "about:" syntax, install the ChromeAccess extension, which includes most (but not all), including about:net-internals. Conspicuously absent are about:network and chrome://system/

Many Google functions are accessible in lightweight mobile versions:

    Nice sharing dude,...
For those of us who are on data-capped / tiered mobile internet plans, keeping track of how much data one is consuming is of great importance and convenience.

    regards,..
